Formerly the gay-friendly all-night Bluenote Bar which was rebranded in 2009 to become The Fringe Bar on the corner of Cuba and Vivian Streets.
As the Fringe the bar has become Wellington’s Number 1 regular Comedy and Karaoke venue. International comedy acts and talented musicians often frequent the bar. Basically pre-booked comedy takes priority 7pm - 10pm each weekday and then the bar moves into nightclub mode with the traditional karaoke and DJ sounds until 6am closing weekdays, 830am weekends.
