Rainbow Wellington Friday drinks
 
Because of falling numbers we are not able to justify continuing our Friday drinks twice a month, at least for a while. Most of the bars we use are going through hard times in the recession and need our support. But if only a handful turn up, we cannot really expect them to lay on anything special for us, as they have in the past. So let's make an effort to support these events, which will normally be on the first Friday of the month until further notice.

Our second visit to this exotic bar – the only venue we have ever shared with a bath-tub I think! We have also asked for the same barman to be rostered on!

The Lounge Bar is a new bar situated in what was once part of Chow Restaurant on Tory Street. It can be entered through Chow but more conveniently from Courtenay Place south side a few metres from the junction with Tory Street going towards Kent Terrace.  There's a doorway and some stairs marked by a small sign.  Go up the stairs and through a plainly marked door on the first floor and you are there.
 

RAINBOW WELLINGTON DRINKS: 1^st October, Wellesley Boutique Hotel

Our second Friday drinks in this delightful venue, which of course we also used for our meeting with the US Ambassador. This time we will be downstairs again. Look around for us, as they say it could be quite full. They are planning to open up the bar into the restaurant area to make more room for us, so please do turn up in force again!

RW CHRISTMAS DINNER

Restaurants get very busy just before Xmas, so we have already booked our Xmas dinner.
This will be at the Cheeky Pipi, 163 The Parade, Island Bay, on Friday 10^th December, starting at 7 pm.
More details will follow nearer the date, but put this date in your diary for the time-being. As usual, we will be asking for bookings in advance for this function.
